Formed by two long time automobile enthusiasts, The Worldwide Group reflects the background of the Principals who literally grew up in the auction business. Rod C. Egan and John Kruse have held management/partnership positions at leading auction companies throughout the United States, refining their trade working and learning from some of the best collector car enthusiasts and owners in the business.

In April, 2005 in Seabrook, TX (near Houston) the Worldwide Group held its inaugural auction - The Houston Classic - with world record sales. An impressive array of vintage vehicles and wooden boats were sold with an overall sales rate at 90% and sales totaling $7 million.

At the sale, The Worldwide Group offered a piece of automotive history which set an auction world record when it crossed the block and sold at $1.1 million. A singularly important Alfa Romeo, the foundation of Enzo Ferrari's world famous Scuderia Ferrari, and very first car, "8513033" ordered by Scuderia Ferrari, brought bidders from all over the world. This historical piece was brought to the United States for the very first time for this auction and was presented to the collector community at a special preview/press party hosted by Ferrari of Houston.

John Kruse

Rod Egan has handled and operated some of the largest auctions and collections in North America. His business knowledge has taken him many places as an auctioneer and he is well respected by his peers and clients not only for his business skills, but also as one of the best auctioneers in the world.

Rod specializes in the valuation of fine automobiles and always makes himself available to clients and car enthusiasts. He has the unique experience of having sold over $3 billion both privately and through auction, placing him in an elite group of few auctioneers who have handled major asset conversions at that level.

Rod not only oversees corporate operations, but is widely respected for his appraisal and sales abilities, helping close some of the largest private car collection sales in North America in recent years.
John Kruse

John Kruse was born into the business and worked his first auction at the age of four tagging along behind his father and grandfather. He has worked his way through the ranks and has participated in every level of the auction business from sweeping the floors to auctioneering, to signing the deal.

He also has participated as a buyer and seller giving him a unique understanding of what it takes to have an excellent transaction for all.

Also having the honor and privilege to have worked with several different auction houses he has the most well-rounded approach to the business as one could hope to have. Coupled with his high level of ethics and integrity, John will get the deal closed. His life mission is to be a service oriented solutions provider. This business gives him that opportunity.
